Rush's legendary drummer and lyricist, renowned for his technical precision, elaborate drum kits, and epic solos that defined progressive rock drumming.

Neil Ellwood Peart was the drummer, percussionist, and primary lyricist for Rush. Nicknamed "The Professor" for his intellectual approach and continuous pursuit of improvement, Peart was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1983 at age 30, the youngest person ever honored. His drumming combined precision with creativity, featuring complex time signatures, elaborate fills, and legendary live solos. He also authored several travel memoirs. Peart died from glioblastoma in 2020.
